Story by Stacie: “My husband and I took a trip to Whitefish, Montana to visit a friend of ours who moved there after he retired. We took advantage of his ideal retirement location to plan our first trip to Glacier National Park. Our plan was to travel the Going-to-the-Sun Road from the east one day and the west the next day. The day we took this photo was our first day traveling to Glacier National Park, and we were all so excited for a day of hiking. As we drove into the Park from the east side, every view was better than the next. We forced our host and driver to pull over at every designated stopping spot available to take in the continuing and increasing beauty. This photo of Saint Mary Lake, the second-largest lake in Glacier National Park, in the State of Montana is one of my favorite photographs we took of the entire trip, and represents all the joy, excitement, anticipation, and awe we were filled with during our adventure.”
