Live Wedding Painting

  • Keepsake

A wedding painting is precious memento to commemorate your wedding day in artistic form- a painting you can treasure throughout your entire marriage and pass on to future generations.

  • Entertainment

Sarah provides a unique opportunity to watch her work, turning a blank page into a masterpiece over the course of a few hours. Her back may be turned towards the guests, but she encourages them to come and watch the magic happen.

  • Decor

Decorations goes far beyond table centerpieces. Decor is what gives your guests the feeling you want them to have during your wedding. It creates the ambiance. A wedding painting will elevate that feeling of beauty and elegance.

The Happy Couples

The Process:

1. Booking

Fill out the form below to inquire. We will discuss via email or phone call what your vision for your painting is. My favorite concepts are the first kiss and couple’s portraits!

I offer two size options- 12x16” or 16x20” with 2024 prices starting at $1500+ travel. A $700 retainer fee and signed contract are required to secure your wedding date.

2. Wedding Day

I arrive to the wedding a couple hours early to set up and begin sketching and painting the background. I take reference photographs, then paint throughout the night for about 6 hours. I usually duck out before the dance floor gets too wild. Guests are welcome to watch the painting unfold during the reception! And I always make sure the couple gets to see the painting before I leave.

3. After the Wedding

I take the painting home to add the finishing touches and create a high quality digital image of the painting, so that you can purchase fine art prints or create thank you cards from your painting. Prints make great gifts for your parents!

You will receive a photo preview of the painting before it is shipped, and should expect your painting to be shipped within 4 to 6 weeks of the wedding.

FAQs

  • If you would like to stage your first dance before the ceremony begins I can definitely paint it this way! I cannot paint it live during the dance because it usually is so late in the night.

Watercolor is a unique medium because paint is transparent and you can see through each layer. I cannot paint on top of a background. I begin my process early in the day so that the majority of my painting time is after the ceremony when more of your guests can watch the painting unfold.

  • Yes! I love a good excuse to drag my husband on a weekend road trip. If you are outside of the Cincinnati area there will be associated travel fees.

  • I paint weddings exclusively in watercolor. For me, it is my quickest medium and the one I know the best. I also love the whimsical feel it gives to the wedding paintings!

  • Yes! I often paint as a surprise or gift to the couple. For coordination purposes I do ask that you let the wedding planner and/or venue know that I will be coming. Sometimes the surprise is revealed to the couple as a wedding shower gift or on the morning of the wedding before the ceremony!
