Cincinnati Ohio artist Sarah Campbell of the campbell creative

I am an artist and engineer, but I’ve spent most of my life believing that I had to choose between one or the other.

I have loved creating art my whole life. I was taught by Cincinnati local Merlene Schain for 8 years, but ultimately I found myself in school to become a Mechanical Engineer. I was told I had to choose between art and engineering so many times, but I continued to figure out how how to do both. After entering the corporate world, I felt the pull back to art, so I started painting again and sharing my work with friends and family. Over 5 years I created a business painting at weddings and in my studio while also working a full time engineering job.

In March of 2024, my beautiful daughter, Guinevere, was born and my priorities shifted. A few months later I quit my engineering job to stay home with my baby and focus more on my art. I am extremely grateful for my art collectors who made this transition possible! I haved gained a whole new perspective through motherhood which has given me inspiration for my current artwork.

It is such an honor to help people preserve their memories into paintings. My art is inspired by nature and family. I believe it is important to surround yourself with beauty and joyful memories, and a painting is a perfect way to incorporate both into your home.
