A new perspective on the floating city

I was drawn to the buildings in Venice because of the historic architecture and the beauty of the water washed brick and stone. I love how each building has its own characteristics- varying brick, stone, iron railings and doors. There are so many beautiful buildings down small canals where you have to look straight up to see the whole building. They are difficult to photograph. So I wanted to give a new perspective to these buildings. I painted them as if you could stand back and appreciate the whole building all at once.
